Morris Mica Hardware is a 3rd generation family hardware retailer with over a century of experience.
In 1995 we joined Mica UK, a voluntary trading organisation. Mica members are small, independently owned businesses in the hardware trade looking to compete with the bigger names.
We have branches in Headless Cross, Redditch and Alcester, Warwickshire.
Our shops provide DIY, gardening and gas supplies to local tradesmen and residents and strive to play an active role in supporting the local communities.
We take great pride in our friendly and knowledgeable staff, who provide free advice to customers on a wide range of DIY-related topics.
History
Morris (Redditch) Limited was founded in 1895 by Frederick Morris as a draper's shop on Mount Pleasant. He employed his younger brother William as an apprentice. The nature of the business changed to ironmongery almost overnight, causing Fred to leave the company in the hands of William.
William's second son Alan took over the business and relocated it to its present premises on Evesham Road, next to the White Hart. After Alan's retirement, his sons David and James took over and were later joined by Paul, who had trained as a master locksmith. James decided to leave the company to persue a life in Australia, leaving David and Paul as the current owners.
Redditch
Our original shop, the Redditch branch is more trade orientated, specialising in locksmithing, power tools and architectural ironmongery.
Alcester
Acquired in 2002 from Mr. Burden our Alcester shop is more retail-orientated, supplying kitchen wares, key cutting and paint mixing amongst many other things.
We deliver Calor gas to the local area and provide regulators, change over valves and hoses.
We are a member of the Alcester Chamber of Commerce and partake in fundraising for the Alcester Christmas lights.
